Okay, folks, sit back and become all nice and comfy. RCJR eZine is proud to present a brand spanking new author (for this reader). Award-winning author Molly O'Keefe has stopped by to chat about her smoking hot Random House Publishing recent release CAN'T HURRY LOVE. Jump on in and get ready to devour every scintillating word that will leave you clamoring for more. Without further ado, it is my great pleasure to introduce Ms. Molly O'Keefe. Take it away Molly...
Molly few months back I was chowing down on my favorite
veggie lover’s pizza. I was flipping through one of several of my RT
Book Reviews magazines. I came across the an article by
Liz French, Stephanie Klose, Faygie Levy and Elissa Petruzzi titled “Legacy
of Love”, and was floored. In
short, the article explained about how the market might be changing but
romance, which I agree whole heartedly, is forever. My curious readers and I would love to know
your thoughts on what you believe are the “Legacy of Love.”
Veggie Lovers pizza always makes me contemplative too. I
agree - romance is forever. It's both escape and more than escape - it's
affirmation of all the important things in this world. Partnership, community,
commitment, family and yes, sex.
Molly, I am hooked on your books! =) You keep on giving readers powerful emotional
love stories time and again. Can you
tell us more about CAN’T HURRY LOVE?
I'm so glad you're enjoying the books. I'm
totally gratified by the response that Can't Buy Me Love and Can't Hurry Love
have gotten. Can't Hurry Love is about the down and out widow of a ponzi scheme
creator. Tori is penniless and hopeless, but she has this land that she's
inherited and she's determined to make it work. She's determined to stand on her
own two feet. Opposite her is Eli Turnbull who has an old family claim on the
land. The two of them REALLY DO NOT LIKE EACH OTHER. I needed Tori to get so
mad she had to stand up and be dealt with and in order for that to happen - Eli
is pretty awful. There's a lot of sparks - but the pay off is delicious.
Is there any part of your personality that bleeds into your
characters while you write?
Every once in a while there is a female character that seems
a lot more like me, but I'm way more fascinated in the women who aren't at all
like me. I'm pretty vanilla in real life - it's fun to write women who
absolutely aren't.
Did you have Tori Baker’s full character arc in mind when
you started writing CAN’T BUY ME LOVE?
Did you know what would happen to her in the end?
I did, though I was
surprised by the kinky sex. Who knew she was such a pervert?
What inspired you to write CAN’T HURRY LOVE?
Well, I saw an
interview with Bernie Madoff's wife and it was pretty fascinating. Particularly
her willing blindness. And the fall out from that horrific crime is really
emotional.
What was one of your favorite moments in writing CAN’T HURRY LOVE?
Oh, fun question. The scene in the rain when Tori finally has her - I'm
not going to take it anymore moment. And the scene between Tori and Eli in the
truck when they have sex - again, so kinky.
Okay, I want to give a warm welcome to, Tori Baker and Eli
Turnball (Waving franticly, trying to get the besotted couple’s attention). ).
I know you two have gone through a lot to get to your happily ever after so I
will try to be brief. (Blushes scarlet as she catches the intimate glance
between the newlyweds, clears her throat).
Tori what was your first impression of Eli?
He was beautiful even as a kid.
Eli, we die-hard readers are desperate to know what you
thought of Tori the moment you met.
As a kid, she was pretty tough. Game, I always said. But,
when she came back to the ranch as a woman...well, I felt bad for her. She'd
been through a lot - but she had decided to stake a claim on my land and to my
great shame - I didn't handle it well.
Was it love or lust at first sight?
Dislike and then lust
Tori, when was the moment you knew that Eli was for you?
There were a lot of moments, watching him with Jacob - he
was just so sweet, so tender. But my real moment was watching him face down his
dragons alone, after he'd helped me so much with mine. I'd been blind to my
feelings for a long time.
Tori did you find yourself fighting your growing affection
for Eli?
I'm not sure if I was fighting it as much as not seeing it. Blinded by
sex, I suppose.
Eli, what about you? Did you fight against your growing
attraction for Tori?
Yes.
Eli, name one thing about Tori that you believe changed your
outlook on love.
She's gutsy. Bravest damn person I know.
I have become addicted, lately with books about time
travel. This got me to thinking. If I handed you my time traveling piece would
use it to go back in time to change anything.
Eli and Tori look at each other and shake their heads.
Wouldn't change one thing, Eli says.
Tori did you have any apprehension about getting involved
with Eli?
Loads - I'd been married before, hurt before. I had no interest in
falling love and Eli seemed so safe because he didn't seem like he was going to
fall in love any time soon. Silly me, I guess.
Eli, what about you?
Did you have a sliver of doubt about becoming involved with Tori?
I
wouldn't have thought I was wired that way - for love. But she proved me wrong.
Do you, Tori and Eli, believe that love conquers all?
No, they both laugh. It needs commitment, and a sense of
humor and forgiveness - love needs a lot of help to work out.
One more thing before I let you go. Do you believe that everything you two went
through to find one another, fall in love and finding your happily ever after
was worth the price you had to pay?
Absolutely.
Now back to Molly.
How did you mark the occasion of finally finishing CAN’T
HURRY LOVE?
I always mop my floors - because we've been living like
pigs. That's not very glamorous is it? I mop my floors wearing a diamond tiara.
What do you hope readers walk away with after reading CAN’T
HURRY LOVE?
Oh man, I really hope they love the seriously bumpy road that these
two took to not only love, but self-acceptance. The two things go pretty hand
in hand in this books.
You’re clearly very busy.
What do you do in your limited spare time? Are you reading anything right now? Any reading recommendations while we wait
until your next release?
Oh I just gobbled up Tessa Dare's first two Spindle Cove
books. And this summer is FULL of great contemporary romance. Lots of reading fun!
Molly, please share with desperate readers where they can
connect with you in cyber world. =)

I think the cover is what draws me first, then I read the back and see if I want to give the book a try. I love the cover of Can't Hurry Love, it is definitely an eye catcher. Thx for giveaway.

The cover draws me to pick the book off tghe shelf. I also read blogs to see if anyone is raving overa new author.

Actually Molly is a new author to me. Like all other of my new discoveries the first thing that gets me is the cover. A half naked man does catch my eye lets be truthful. Then, it makes me pick it up and read the back. I go from there. I will very rarely pick up a book with a boring cover, unless I have read the author before I heard of their book!

The title catches my interest. And the cover are important to.

I have to admit to being shallow and usually being attracted to a new author through a glimpse of their cover - though sometimes if there isn't a cover and there is a blurb available and I like the sound of the blurb -that'll make me want it. I also listen to recommendations from friends, favorite blogs, and even my sister (lol). Plus I do have a subscription to RT Book Reviews and sometimes get previews that way that make me want a book.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I guess the cover gets you first. I read a lot of blogs and that helps steer me to the books that sound good. But when I really like the author, I will buy the book regardless. I just finished Can't Buy Me Love, and liked it so much. Now I am glomming every book I can find. I love to find a new author. Would love to win a copy of Can't Hurry Love.

It depends on the situation , I may take a chance if it for my blog by publisher, recommendations or cover lol. But if it for my personal reading then I usually go by genre but I am a sucker for book covers.

When it's a new author then I am usually taking a chance because I like the idea of the story.
